3D computer animation students as well as students from sound design collaborated to create a 6 minute experience. This collaboration, bewtween MFA Alums Phat Nguyen, Trevor Finney, and myself bring project based learning to fruition.
Open Annex Monthly. Spring 2025 Ongoing. (Last Fridays of the month, Feb, Mar, April)
I facilitate a monthly SOVA community exhibition that makes use of the Media Annex Building.
This began in Spring 2025, when the renovation was completed.
New Orleans Film Festival 2017-Ongoing
Rachel Lin Weaver, Nate King, Thomas Tucker and I take students to New Orleans to install New Media work and help out with the festival. The connections and exposure to film industry events is very helpful to put futures within reach.
Data Bank Pop Up 1-4
in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022 Rachel Lin Weaver and I collaborated across SOVA to have an off-beat additional showcase of student work. What started as a new media exhibtion in an old bank planted the seeds for future support for installation art events in Blacksburg.
